We would like to thank all our customers for their support during the past year and would like to continue our valued relationship in the coming year. We would love to hear from you so do not hesitate to send us feedback and suggestions. Even though we might not implement your requests immediately we add them to our product wish-list for future consideration during system enhancement, upgrade and new product development.

What have we been up to:

  • We have been successfully re-certified as ISO 9001:2008 compliant and we are now working towards ISO 9001:2015 certification.
  • We have two new staff members:

    • Ruan an experienced Web Developer
    • Laetitia a Support and Test engineer
  • In order to stay abreast of SADIS developments we have revamped the offering and developed a stable and flexible FTP downloader for WIFS and Secure SADIS FTP, added ICAO Amendment 76 and 77 changes and support all the WAFC CB/ICE/TURB products.
  • We completed the 4th round of the SADIS evaluation which is currently being reviewed by Chris Tyson of the UKMO.
  • We now have a new website

Product updates:

  • A new product, nsMONITOR, was added to our s/w suite to monitor almost all aspects of a system, from operating system issues to application performance.
  • We revisited our High-Availability redundancy solution and opted for low level disk replication instead of application level replication. So far this move has proved to be very stable with no more synchronisation problems after a switch-over.
  • We extended the ability to interface with the MHS from a development perspective: local deciders for routing, file tracking, message tracking, log tracking, XML RPC interface, conversion scripts and generic communication endpoints.
  • Extended GIB’s product generator to create animations for displaying time or height based sequences in succession.

New projects:

  • We were contracted to perform a major mid-life upgrade of the CoreMet system of NATS. This project led to a number of significant nsMHS and nsWS product enhancements and stability improvements.
  • We are in the process of upgrading the Malawian MSS.
  • Upgrade of the flight briefing system (TOR) at Sweden’s LFV. This was a major upgrade as the original Met/AIS system installed in 1996 was replaced with nsGIB and in particular the PIB plugin.
  • Under contract from UCAR we refined and installed our chart editor in Taiwan for TAMC. It is a tool based on nsWS that allows users to create aviation charts, in particular for lower level significant weather. It has an import function for WAFC BUFR data that can serve as a starting point. It is well integrated with nsMHS to facilitate the chart’s conversion and distribution.
  • We were sub-contracted by Frequentis to develop and install a GRIB2 to GRIB1 convertor that are now being used by Air Services Australia.

What is next:

  • Extending our WIS offering
  • Follow SESAR developments and provide solutions
  • Support of XML/GML and message conversions
  • Extend AMHS interfacing capabilities, also considering non-weather data
  • Extend GIB to offer more forecast functions and weather data visualization

We will keep you up to date regarding new developments and products.

Netsys would like to wish all our customers a wonderful festive season and a prosperous, healthy and happy 2016.
