As we approach the last part of 2016, I think it opportune to share some of our achievements of the recent past and our current plans for the future with you. We are indeed pleased to have you as a valued customer and it is our wish that our business relationship might be of mutual benefit and lasts long into the future.
I am proud to be part of the dedicated team behind NetSys, especially for having Tiaan as partner who provides the necessary wisdom and skill to create excellent products that already outclass more and more of our competitor’s products.

Recent Achievements

The most important achievements this year might be summarised as:

  • We have passed the fourth round of the SADIS evaluation, as recorded on the UK Met Office’s web site. This also applies to WIFS.
  • All SADIS sites are now successfully converted to Secure SADIS FTP and using our “auto-discover and remember” downloader.
  • The conversion from METAR, TAF and SIGMET messages in TAC (Traditional Alphanumeric Code) to WXXM1.1 is complete.
  • It is now possible to exchange WXXM messages with AMHS systems. It is of importance to note that a network of AMHSs with the interconnecting X.400 protocol will eventually replace the AFTN.
  • Continued improvement in stability of our products.
  • Our ISO 9001:2008 certification was renewed and is now valid until 2018.

Recent and Current Projects

    1. The new aviation web site for the South African Weather Services (SAWS) finally became live with http://aviation.weathersa.co.za pointing to the new site.
    2. We successfully completed the upgrade of the NATS COREMET switch. This upgrade offered huge functional and stability benefits to this important weather message switch.
    3. We installed a Secure SADIS FTP system for Avinor in Norway. The system provides OPMET to their aviation systems and charts to their web portal.
    4. The AFTN link between the South African Weather Services has been replaced with an X.400 link to ATNS’ AMHS.
    5. We are currently preparing for an installation of a dual redundant server and four GIB client workstations in Shanghai for ATMB.
    6. We have completed the installation of the WXXM1.1 support for Belgium’s Belgocontrol and are currently progressing towards supporting WXXM2.0 and RQX queries for the EUR OPMET Databank.

Plans

  • Complete the current projects, in particular supporting WXXM2.0 and RQX.
  • Pursue the many prospects that we have.
  • Complete our WIS NC offering. We are making good progress towards incorporating a WIS module for National Centres into NSWS.
  • Migrate our QMS to the new ISO9001:2015 standard.
  • Continue to follow SESAR developments with the view of identifying new products and extensions that are due to be implemented in the near future.
  • Excel in our customer support service where our goal is to produce zero-defect, function rich software and to resolve each fault at its origin.

I hope that our 2017 calendar, this time in full colour, is to your liking.
We wish you a rewarding and prosperous 2017 in which your aspirations are realized. Please keep in touch and do not hesitate to contact us to share your NetSys experience, good or bad.
